| Bio: | I run an internet startup, Interclue. We've built one of the world's most useful browser addons for students, researchers and infojunkies. The free version for firefox is now available for download. Currently we're tenants in the Canterbury Innovation Incubator.
This is mainly a personal blog, anything really informative or thoughtful I'll probably put up on sethop.com instead.
I used to have a consulting company called Apposite Ltd. I used to have all sorts of useful geek skills, now they're slowly atrophying as I'm forced to focus more on the stuff entrepreneurs have to put up with before they become successful entrepreneurs.
I know a little bit about a lot of things, and not a lot about anything in particular. I'm very interested in how the internet is changing everything, and where our species is going in general. I'd like to help it go in the right direction, but which direction is that?
At Canterbury University I studied Philosophy and Computer Science, among other things. At the University of Queensland I did a postgrad course in Cognitive Science. I was hoping to eventually do a doctorate related to neural nets and artificial intellience, but I lost my academic motivation somewhere, dropped out and became a fulltime professional geek like the rest of my friends.
I'm interested in increasing the rate of global knowledge growth, and helping people get more value out of the massive resources currently available over the internet. |
